I recently got a rebuilt ported(stage1) motor for my 94 fd and the only other mods i have is exhaust and hks intake. The car runs fine for about ten min then it loads up with fuel and wont idle in drive and wont start, also i burned through a quarter tank in 24mi! is there any way to adjust the fuel ratio without buying the programer?

I don't know what could be causing the problem but as far as I know there is'nt anything that will allow you to change fuel without having a EMS. I could be wrong though.

Why would you want a ported motor while you don't have the capability to adjust the fuel and timing? I could understand trying to get away with a couple of bolt on's but seriously man a ported motor on the stock fuel system is just plain goofy.

You could get a programmed ECU but i don't think that would be the best choice. You should get some type of piggy back at the very least.

Just buy and Apex'I Power FC. You can get 'em used with the turning console (commander) for $500 or brand new for around $1000. Its a good investment if you dont like motor rebuilds.
