Rotor Replacement

how do you know which direction the vanes face. how do you know if it is right or left based on the direction of the vanes. this is my right rear (driver side) is it correct?

Look at the vanes inside the rotor. You want them so they scoop air into the rotor. That looks correct, but I have seen a Stillen kit that needed then slots to face the other way.

If the vanes are curved, the direction that the spin matters most. The vanes should NOT be scooping the air. Air should be going from the center of the rotor and exiting the outer edge.

On slotted/x-drilled rotors, they should spin "reverse" i.e. the leading end of the slot should be the end closer to the outer edge. Therefore, the rotor in your picture should be on the passenger side.
