I'm in japan right now and the car market in Japan is way down. So Sports cars are pretty cheap. NHTS will let 1986 to 1995 rx-7 in the country with small modification i.e. america odometer , seats, bummer mods. etc.... importing will cost $2300 to 2500 to LA.

So what would you feel is a good price?

Also if you wanted some cool part only in Japan I could shove it in the car for you on the trip so you would have to go though a US COMPANY with taxes and tariffs. ALSO its $1 =120 Yen about so it like a 20% discount .

I only can import one at a time.

also door convertions are possible but pricey

If anyone is really intressted PM I can get in to more details.

OFF the subject and form those how like the SKYLINE and want to get one the R-34 with the works will have to pay any where from 34,000,000 to 47,000,000 yen

ALSO the NEW SKYLINES ARE just infinity G35 with optional all wheel drive and larger V6 and cost about 34,000,000 yen

RX-7 are all over the place here like Camero are in the US.

How much are the used Rx7's in YEN in japan? 1995?

Why cant you legalize a 99' ?

What kind of bumper modifications?

What is the expectred mileage on the cars?

How long to ship the car? And how will it be shipped? Because i hear cars need special protectivce anti-salt water protection when shipped on boats....

I would really like more info on how you plan on getting these cars back? You must have a hookup at customs or something, from everyone I have talked to it isn't as easy as you make it seem.

I really hope you can do what you say, I give you money tomorrow if you can get my car back for that cheap

LOL, THAT WOULD SUCK!!

I too have heard that it requires more than just the above mods to get into the U.S. Afterall, Japan doesn't have VIN numbers, and you'd have to get one. Trouble is, VIN numbers aren't just handed out - you have to be licensed to stamp VIN's on a car...

Car's in Japan have Vins, they are just 2 number short. So they have to make a new one to meet there standards. Have a 20k car getting crushed would make me

Ok let s start I 1999 with tweaked turbos and tweaked cars are the ideal but I don't have $500,000 to crash test a few then get a importers license.

Pretty much someone petitioned Mazda to import Rx-7 from Japan when through a big headache with paper work. and was able to get one in the country and then was put on the list of imported cars NHTS info CAR LIST notice the skylines are on it Motorex(skyline shipper) spend big big buck to get it on the list.

-Shipping like I said 2300 to 2500 to LA.

-Tariffs 2.5%

-epa testing .... ie emissions

-bummer mods... it could be anywhere from a little brace to be welder to complete removal and installation.

-cleaning the underside of cars. no foreign dirt

-*** far as shipping they are in big old crates and strapped down.

-far as crushing that can happen but all foreign cars are allowed a one year permit for thing s like races and shows or for personnel use. then they have to be shipped back out or comply to US standards. and since the 1995 are already in all you have to do is make them the same .

-cost for cars 2,500,000 yen for high mileage ones to 17,000,000 yen

nice ones. but lets say around 8,700,000 yen for a good one.

-In Japan you have to prove you have a parking spot for them and a whole bunch of other crap so i can only get one at a time. also there are fees like taxes and other stuff

-go here to get a better idea of what i have to do on my end as far as cars buying a car in Japan the number are a little off but there are not to far off

maybe few hundred $ less here and there since its an 1995

- if your really interested start doing some research on you end and don't let stupid people in the NHTS misguide you. i had the experience myself

and was pissed off when i found out other wise.

-Why am i doing this? simple I want one too. hopefully after about maybe 4 or 5 cars i can ship one to the states.

- I don't have and importers license but that doesn't need i can not import port them . There are lots of importers and all you need to do is to ask them (or ie pay them for a fee) to import them for you.

- why don't i just get them to get me a car?

because they will rape you. once they get done with you (money wise) you'd wish you never have even though about it

-What about the conditions of the cars?

I use to be an only rx-7 mechanic so i know what to look for in a car.

-how long will it take?

shipping alone takes about 3 week to one month

then the rest is busy work so how ever long that takes

if you really intrested your probaly are going to have to work as hard on your end as i will have to on my end.

you you think i'm bull shitting you please tell ME... but i love the third gens so much that i think that i will be worth your time.

any ways the 3rd gens here never have a 5 gears synchro problem due to the fact the mazda desighned the throw to be rhd its called CONSAI engineering or ergonomics engineering
