I need some help to correct this problem.

The revs go up by approximately 500RPM when changing gear under load conditions. Under no load, there is no problem. If I accelerate, say on second gear, acceleration is good, I can feel primary and secondary turbos kick in, but when I change gear (and release the accelerator pedal), revs surge up by about 500revs (say from 3000 to 3500) instead of decreasing. I've noticed that after this happens, when the car is then on the next gear, turbos do not kick in again. Seems something has to do with incorrect release of turbo pressure, what do you think is wrong?

Regards

Saviour

What mods u runnin? It might be a BPV problem..not opening and venting boost pressure when the throttle body closes.

Or a sticking throttle cable/shaft?

Hi all,

The car is stock, no upgrades.

Accelerator cable not sticking.

And I do release the accelerator pedal before changing gears...

I also took off the pipe between the brown bov valve just behind the air filter box, and could here it dumping air during gear changes, so this valve is still functioning, although it may still be not opening at low boost pressures. Is there any aftermarket bov valve that can easily replace this valve and maybe perform better?

I still cannot understand how failure to dump extra pressure could result in a surge in revs, although the fault indicates that it is highly related.

Thanks again.
