Drain the tranny first, though. Oil will pour out the back if you don't.

Yea and gear fluid is about the worst smelling **** in your car. Not to mention it's a hard smell to get rid of.

Dave you have no idea. To make a long story very short, one awfull night, a few years ago, I had about 3 quarts dumped all over my head and body, eyes open and everything. I was wearing a work uniform at the time, and even after being washed by the uniform company 15 times, the smell never went away.

Just undo the wireing harness from the car, and leave them attached to the engine/transmission. Make life alot easier! They you can pull the engine without ever taking off the intake, or going after plugs... Well alot anyways

And I always just leave the driveshafts bolted to the diff... It won't fall, because it sits in the PPF brake.

Also when you pull it, unless you completly remove your PPF brace (which is more work than needed...) All 4 studs on the transmission that hold the PPF brace unscrew/remove) The upper two are held into place by a retainer/10mm bolt. It's kinda hard to get to, but it you go threw the shifter hole, that is the easiest.

Then the lower two are threaded into the transmission. I think it was a 6/7mm, but the open end of a wrench fits the end of the stud. Just screw them out, and after you get those two out, just pull the engine/transmission straight forward! No jerking, or removing the PPF brace

questions.. when removing the engne and trans as a unit you only need to remove the front 4 ppf bolts and the engine mounts and the drive shaft should slip right out? any other connectors other than the 4 attached to the trans that need to be disconnected? thank you
