It will leak when you run high boost if you use a spring that's too soft. The Tial BOV is a push type BOV. Even though both the nipple on the top and the IC pipe have the same pressure on boost, the area of the nipple opening (3 mm in diameter) is much smaller than the valve (50mm in diameter). That's why you need a spring in there to make sure the valve will not open under boost.

Agentspeed has the 11 psi spring in there. It comes standard with the Tial BOV. I personally think the 7 psi spring is too soft. I rather have very light compressor surge under light throttle than overspinning the turbo if the BOV leaks. Overspinning the turbo can kill the bearing in no time.

I replaced my TIAL spring with the 9lb spring and it's perfect for my set-up. I was told the 7lb was too low but the 11lb caused compressor serge so I thought I'd try the 9lb spring. Now I have no serge. The 9lb spring was a pain to find but I can look on the receipt if anybody needs to know where to get one.
