i have a downpipe and cat-back on my rx7 and apexi safc( piggy back ) to regulate my fuel mix. I got the car back and had a huge power gain but it only lasted a few days and the power is almost stock feeling now. This is when the idle changed. I was told I had a vacuum leak ,so I had a guy spray ether around my engine and it never idled up. It only idles like this when it is done warming up. Could running too rich cause it to idle like a mustang with a cam in it? The guy who installed the stuff tuned it with a wideband, but he seemed a little unsure what a/f mix to use. Im thinking of having someone else take a look.

personally. i would just get a pettit or m2 or powerFC. afc is a piggy back. you will still have fuel cut and timing from the stock computer..... those are ALOT safer. where are you located. take it to a reputable rotary tuner....

I live near st louis and I am still trying to find some one that knows rotaries. I am going to get a stand alone fuel cpu as soon as possible. there arent many people that know about rotaries around here. I would consider any suggestions. My friend and I are going to single turbos this winter. and are still deciding where to go.

there is a place in O'fallon/e. st louis that is called rush hour performance. there are a couple of fd guys there. one is on this forum. he has the hks t51-kai and the other guy is henry and is chinese. but they are cool anyways. i do not know if they work on fd's and don't from what i gather, but can surely point you the right direction...

I would get rid of the apexi unit and get yourself a remapped ecu especially since you don't seem to know how to tune it. Your gonna find somebody willing but unknowledged to tune with it and pop your motor. Just get a remapped and be done with it.

Call RH performance, and get rid of the safc. You can pick up a used ECU for a reasonable price nowdays... If I were you, I'd spend the few hundred on a good ECU till you go single.

It'll be cheaper than a single AND a rebuild!
