well i was in and out driving all over today and some weird **** started happening. first i noticed that the car wasnt accelerating as quickly as usual when i put my foot down on the gas at my normal driving pace. second while doing some hard driving running through the gears my rpm gauge would shoot up and then bog right back down as if it was in neutral, im thinking that whatever is inside the clutch assembly is tarting to lose its gripping ability. finally after my hard run my idle turned to straight ****, bouncing from 200 to 700 rpm's rapidly. after that i just let it cool for awhile and have been taking it easy while driving.

Not sure about the wierd idle, but the slipping sure sounds like a clutch problem. Any smell, like your cooking brake pads?

definitely a burn smell afterwards. my idle has always been a little goofy, i ususally just flick on my parking lights and that keeps it at an even 800

Acceleration will decline untill it feels like you are towing the Titanic and at the very end, the car will not move at all.

To me it actually smells like burning flesh would smell. Is it because of it being an organic disk? Edit: I think I read Dante's Inferno too in depth.

3rd gear at 3K rpms, floor it. If the rpms rise quickly but the car doesn't accelerate then it's the clutch. Don't worry, it'll only get worse and by then you'll know for sure...

do a burnout, but instead of dropping the clutch in 1st, drop it in 3rd like my DA friend Greg did...he's lucky I replaced the clutch the next week. Bastard.
