If i get polished headers and manifold will it increase flow rate by much?

Do you mean polished on the inside or outside?

Polishing on the inside can actually make less air flow. If it is a little smooth but not totally - the little bumps make turbulance and break up the air buffer along the sides of the pipe. If it is perfectly smooth the air buffer gets bigger and starts to restrict the air flow.

If you mean polished on the outside. This would reflect the heat in the engine compartment a little and hopefully keep the air in the intake cooler. Cool air is denser then warm air so more air would get in to the engine.

Well it may keep the manifold from dispersing heat too. It doesn't make a good heat shrink when it's totaly smooth. ??

It's totally for asthetics. Don't expect any performance gains from polishing.

polishing the inside will mess up the fuel travel also.

A polish on the intake manifold wont effect the heating and cooling properties of the manifold, it should accumulate heat and dissipate heat at the same rate. A ceramic coated, or plated manifold may affect the characteristics, as you would be adding more material to the equation; ie slow the heating/cooling process.

A light polish on the interior isnt too bad, but the texture is necessary for the air mainly, and the air/fuel mixture in the LIM. In the instance of a monster port on the engine (which requires a small monkey to pour fuel in) I dont think a full polish would make a difference, either way???
