Well, thought I'd throw this out there for viewing. I got a hold of some 1/8" aluminum and re-made my FPR mount. Rather nice I must say. Now all I need is some better mounting hardware and it's ON!!

Is there another way to mount it. It seems to me taht your blocking any air tha migt be able to flow over the block with that plate?
I know it probably doesnt really amount to a hill of beans but any little bit helps right? |
Is that motor in your bedroom?

I know it probably doesnt really amount to a hill of beans but any little bit helps right? I could always make a plate that doesn't take up so much of the space. I figured it wasn't keeping any more air flowing than all the stock bullshit that used to sit there. You know... The Vacuum chamber, the Wastegate and Precontrol solenoid mount... I can't remember what else. You bring up a good point though. I'll do some research! Justin |

It was the first thing I grabbed and just went with it! I got the aluminum from a local shop... They had it sitting around as scrap... I'll ask where they got it. If you give me a few days I'd be happy to make you one. I'll just drill the 2 holes to mount the plate and leave the ones for the FPR undrilled... In case you want it lower or higher. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png No charge, just give me an address and a few days. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Justin |

I did the LIM, waterpump housing, waterpump, and the filler neck. It's actually a paint with ceramic in it. Seems to work great! |

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/bigthumb.gif Looks sweet man!! I got a question for you though on the polished intake manifold---did you run into porosity problems with the finished product? I just started mine and did a test patch on a flat area. It shined up real nice, but with several pin holes in the surface. I wasn't expecting a chrome like finish out of a sand casting, but just wondered----I can never tell by the pictures.

Did you do anything to the alternator? Or just cleaned it up?
|
A little bit of bling? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png
That has got to be one of the prettiest engines I have ever seen. I would kill to have my engine look like that. Of course, I don’t think it would feel at home in the dirty ass engine bay. One of these days, I will find the time to tear my stuff out and clean it all up. I could only hope it would look half that good when it was done. |
I think that is your exhaust manifold I see in one of the pictures. Do they make a nice free flow system for the stock turbos. I took my turbos off just yesterday and I accidentally stripped one of the studs out of the stock manifold. The damn nuts wouldn't cooperate. I would rather replace the manifold with something nicer than stock if I need to.
