Ok the car idled fantastic and then....

then I blocked off the AWS with 2 block off plates and rerouted the coolant so it doesnt go through the throttle body any more

moved the blow off valve, put a better block off plate on the double throttle (the previous may have been leaking)

added magnecore 10mm plug wires

thats all I really did the idle used to be something under 1000 and hold real solid

now the idle is ~1800 when I start it up and stays there

sometimes its 1600 or 1400 a little bit after. Other times it fluctuates between 700-1100 back and forth but when I turn on the a/c it settles to ~1000 but then a minute later it may start again with the fluctuating even if the a/c is on. If the car has been warmed up and I shut it off and come back 15 minutes later and drive it the idle is almost perfect ~800 and stays like that the entire time im driving but may start to do the fluctuating thing again....

I have the pfc commander and datalogit please let me know of any changes I can make to fix this because it is REALLY annoying and which of the things I did above caused the messed up idle. I want a 875 idle all of the time solid.

thanks guys

How many days ago did it start?

1.Today or yesterday?--if yes so to number 3, if no got to 2

2. So how many days?

3. Just let it sit, give it a chance to learn, could be all it needs

You should consult a factory service manual on "how to adjust your idle" , when the coolant that goes to the TB heats up it causes the thermo . wax to move down into its base , disengaging from the cam on the throttle assembly linkage allowing it (the throttle plates ) to close , thereby allowing the motor to slow down as the water temp. goes up . Since you removed the coolant it (the thermo wax) would stay fully extended and keep the throttle a bit open , there is a small adjustment screw there (on the side closer to the fire wall) that you would have to adjust to cause it to fully disengage from the cam.

Anyone who has gone through this section in the service manual would know what I am speaking about.

after 2 days of removing it, it was smooth as a babies butt again.

Factory service manuals cover POWER FCs?

no it doesnt. BUT it does cover the thermo pelet he is talking about. doesnt sound like the pellet is the problem though because it would idle for longer time at the 1800 range longer. hmmm... unless the engine heat can actualy cause the reaction to the wax???...

adjust your idle air screw under the throttle body with a flat head screwdriver.. close the plates all the way.. and adjust the screw from there with the car fully warmed up.. will fix your idle problem.. also make sure you don't have ANY vacuum leaks..

and Id like to add that yes it does idle at the 2OOO or 18OO or 16OO just really damn high mark until I shut off the car for the first time...when I come back 15 minutes later after its been sitting and start it up again then it will idle normal but I still may get that bouncing where it goes between 4 different maps on the map tracer
