Hey you guys I'm new to this forum but I'm a regular over at RX7club.com.

Anyways I wanted to share my pics of my freshly painted FD. It sports a 99 style buumper and I've molded in a set of apex side skirts as well as my rear bumper. I wanted to keep the car as clean lookin as possible but with a little something to it as well. Thats where ther black and blue color scheme comes from. I couldnt decide whether the car shoudl be black or blue so I decided to do both I personally love how the blue contrasts the black but at the same time simply high lights the beauty of the cobalt blue on there. The car was painted at My shop. Creative Auto body Were located in milwaukee wisconsin. If any of you feel the need to respary this winter and are in the area check out this link.

i definately like the blue... not sure about the black "starsky and hutch" stripe yet.

xeros 11-10-2005 11:05 PM

starsky and hutch...really? Eeeeehhh kinda, but no where near as nasty in my opinion, and it does a fairly good job of just blending with the door don't you think?

75 Repu 11-10-2005 11:05 PM

nice blue..

sweet7 11-11-2005 03:55 AM

Yeah that blue is hot.

the solitaire 11-11-2005 07:19 AM

nice shade of blue. would definately look fancy with oakley straight jacket with blue flames (accessories make the world go round https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR) and a blue ipod :p

Not so sure about the black striping. It does blend in with the general shape of the car, but I think that it would look better if some silver was mxed in in the middle of that black. Gives this ind of fancy shadowy lines which I personally like although something might be said again for the clean look it has now.

xeros 11-11-2005 09:33 AM

Actually the black stripe has a metalic in itand i painted the black stripe with Kandy as well so when light hits the black it shines back with all this really dark blue. Thanks for the comments.

sweet7 11-11-2005 09:35 AM

It reminds me of the "hockey stick" swoosh they used to put on muscle cars.

blaze08 11-13-2005 10:45 AM

Nice man... how much would you charge for something like that?

just out of curiosity. and what blue is it?

I guess I should just really post whats on the rx7club.com forum everywhere else i post. Anyways noramlly for that exact job, molding sideskirts and bumper in, installing a new front bumper, stripping the panels off the doors and hatch, gutting the engine bay and taking out the entire engine bay and removing the enigine. sealing the car if white ko seal, Painting the car with with 3 diffrent colors (kandy is the third color), adding flake using du pont chroma clear (360 dolars for 1 gallon one of the best clears you can get) I would say 4000-5000 depending on exsisting damage and what not. What makes it so expensive is simply the engine bay, that is the most labor intensive part of the entire car. If you disclude it you save yourself 1000 dollars. But right now my shop is runnign a special for the holidays to the RX-7 community so if your intrested hit the link I posted.

xeros 11-13-2005 11:01 AM

Ohhh I havent even posted recent wet sanded and buffed pics of it!

Here you go, notice the mirror like clear, that car hasent even been washed yet. either in any of these.

Why? Are you bothered by repeating yourself? You started the same topic here. Did you not expect similar comments or questions?

xeros 11-20-2005 08:20 PM

Wha? I was just simply showing my car on this forum as well, trying to get my work noticed by the RX-7 community thats all.

Thats cool, just read like you were annoyed by the repeated question. If not then my bad. It's a nice shade of blue.

xeros 11-20-2005 09:35 PM

This is what it'll look liek when its pretty much done hopefully riding on CE28Ns or WORK VSXX. The car is sitting on installed HT struts in the pics not lowered all the way just yet.
