You could go with the stock RZ oil coolers which are larger than the R1's...

Can you install these double coolers in the Base 3rd gen that has only one oil cooler? Is it easily bolted on or do you have to make some room?

I may get bitchslapped for asking but has anyone everlooked at the universal oil coolers that sell through places like JC Whitney?

They are extremely affordable. My thought is if your just adding a second one to your car. Does it really have to be a specifically manufactured part?

hmm if you are adding, it might not have to be that good, actually a friend of mine is doing a custom kit for his car.

Well u will need to make new lines and use special fitting {swivel so there ain't much pressure on the hose} but if u an make the lines then I guess u can use any aftermarket oil cooler, Jeg.com and summit racing.com sell alot of fitting's.Also pegasus auto racing supplies sell alot good oil coolers. Dude I wish I knew how to make mazda crazy lines work in conjunction with an aftermarket oil coolers. Anyone care to share some idea's? Also I like the mazdaspeed kit too only thinhs is stopping me from buying is the damn price, Jason can u get a good deal on the mazdaspeed oil cooler? Khris

I have a type R, which has 2 oil coolers and I have the oil cooler ducting from RE

my temps went down, but not as much as I would like. Thats why I was looking

into some oil coolers. These are nice, but actually I was looking at the oils by

GREX (trust).

I will probably be going large single oil cooler because I want to use the other hole for air intake. Best thing for cooling oil though, is going single. My water temps/oil temps have PLUMMETED since going single....I don't even think my thermostat has opened up all the way since going single...
