Hi,
I love my FD but sometimes it gets irritating.... Now i have had this problem for a while... What happens is that sometimes when i start my car and drive it..it hesitates under boost.. no matter how low.. even 1 psi... Even at a standstill if i press the accelerator quickly it sort of starts dying... like it cannot breath or something... And other times it is fine... It happens like once in 20 days or less... but when it happens it gets irritating... i cannot boost.. the car can be driven but with a very carfeul right foot not to press the accelarator much.... It sometimes becomes ok when i turn it off and then on again... but it did not work today.... Anyone had this problem?? I have a brand new enigne do not want to hurt it.... This is irritating... Please help!! |
Ignition break up, fuel cut, bad tuning, I'm just pulling these out of my ass. What are your mods?

Sounds like a short in the wiring harness to me... Hard to tell though..

Upgrade the ground straps to 4guage.
Replace the fuel filter Clean the air filter if applicable ( general advice) And replace the plugs. Other than that Justin might have a good point or you can look into an ignition up grade. |

My mods are Apex-i intakes, N1 Exhuast, Knightsports Downpipe, Greddy stock mounted intercooler... thats about it... Sounds like a short in the wiring harness to me... Hard to tell though.. Ok i will upgrade the ground straps.. tomm. fuel filter has less than 8000 kms on it.. should i change it?? it is not an OEM though will clean the air filters tomm. plugs are new.. have less than 200 kms on them... The car in that situation does not take any boost.. without boost it runs.. but as soon as it gets any boost it starts dyeing(hesitating) so i have to let off the accelerator to keep it running... I have a Power FC with me should i install that... will it help in any way?? Thanks guys |

used to happen with my car...only when its not warmed up...big hesitation...i just had to drive not boosting for like 10 minutes and it was all good worked perfect.

Cleaned the airfilter will order the fuel filter tomorrow will get the ground strap tomm. its happening more now... Can it be the MAP sensor... The car hesitates when its abut to reach postitve manifold pressure and does not go into positive manifold pressure in any gear.. can it be the ECU... Please advise... |
it is happening all the time now... it is rare that the car drives ok :(
Can it be a faulty ignition system?? I remember once my car was at the workshop for some maintainence work and another rx-7 came there i think with a similar problem.. his problem was his igniton system.... but starngely his problem got solved the very same day... i asked my mechanic what the problem was and he said the igition system... So i asked if they repaired it.. but they said they had an extra one with them... Now i am getting curious if they swapped our ignition systems.... How can i check |
its a time bomb, sell it to me today for the low price fo $50!
