Stock Oil guages on FD have a tendecy to just foul up due to the location of whre they are positioned oil can get on the wire and begin to foul up things.. My boy Rx794 told me this cause I was witnessing the same problem but my car was not stalling out.

If you clean off the sending plug connector it's not so bad. Its a small one wire square connector just south of the oil filter. Refer to your work shop manual if you are unclear of the locale.

Sometimes just cleaning the connector will solve it, but you may have to replace the sender.

yeah same thing happens happened to me on several occasions ... i came to find out the wire kept coming off the sending unit. check that it is SECURELY on the sending unit . may want to pinch it down with a pair of liemans pliers or something of that nature.
