I've used xylene before. Home depot has small cans of it. 30% xylene should bump you up to about 100 octane. If you need that much octane, just run race gas or aviation fuel.

it can get expensive using xylene. i used to be a painter and i still get the discount. it cost $6.99 a gal. ihor, using that much of a mixture is not recomended. i dont think it is *safe* to go to much over 25%???

Don't know about Xylene, but NOS was dyno proven to add hp. Check Import Tuner, early 2001 issue.

I think I'll try octane booster the next few fill ups and see how it does.
just curious here... how do you plan on "seeing how it does"?

See if my car runs better, cleaner, smoother,.....different. Race gas is like 5$ a gallon vs. 91 at 1.60 + 3-5 dollars for booster is a nice alternative if you want to run higher octane than 91

maybe you didnt read what we were saying about the "pep boys boosters"... they are Bull ****.

i am sure import tunner magazine was PAID by someone to do that artice. none of us are being paid by anyone to say otherwise... octane itself wont make HP. it will allow you to do things you normaly would not be able to w/ a lower rated pump gas. the higher the octane the slower it burns. i am not going to type out an entire class on octane, do a bit of research on it.

good luck w/ your test.

oh, and dont take this as an insult to you, that is not what it is trying to be. i am not very good w/ wording things. just doesnt seem like you are getting it.

my friend uses xylene in his supra and he likes it. He siad use about 1 part xylene to 5 parts gas. so like 3 gallons of the stuff with a full tank of gas. he likes it. I would only go about 2 gallons a full tank though. I plan on doing it if i ever race.
