I was talking to a guy with another FD who says he uses octane booster on every fill up and I should do the same. He says since CALI only has 91 octane now, that the booster is better for the engine. Then I talked to a mechanic friend of mine and he says that doing that would burn up a piston motor but he's not sure about rotors. So......whats the verdict?

if you do that prepare to go broke, those tiny *** NOS octane boosters are upwards of $4 a bottle. i think they may be more then that actually.

not sure of any adverse affects so cant help you on that side of things.

Octane boosted plus 91 octane should be fine.

those tiny *** NOS bottles are BS. try using xylene. it is 117 octane. when the NOS bottles or any of those claim to raise it 8 points or something... this would mean if you started with 91, you would end up with 91.8 dont know exactly how far the bottle strechec either. do a google on xylene.

Don't know about Xylene, but NOS was dyno proven to add hp. Check Import Tuner, early 2001 issue.

I think I'll try octane booster the next few fill ups and see how it does.
