i was just wonderign what is best ive been told to weld the flap on the exaust manifold open for the ns mod but would it not be better to take it off and weld up the hole? i have a feeling the flap might be a bit restrictive but would it be better there or not there. cheers jonny

I would either cut it off or wire it back. I would not waste time trying to tack weld it back.

The best is to remove the flapper from the exhaust manifold and tap and plug the hole with a threaded cast iron plug. This has been the best rule since day 1 of going full non-seq. Anything other is just a joke. Also work on the #2 exhaust port into the turbo housing where the gate use to mate up against. Cutting back and rounding the edges also helps reduce back pressure and helps spool up. If you are going non-seq, do it correctly or not at all! |
cheers i will try my best to do it correctly but do i need to port my waste guate like it says on the guide? im noly going to run stock boost
