Hi all,

i am not sure if i am posting this in the right spot or not but i though i should drop in a line to say hi :P

i have just bought a RX7 series 8 FD twin turbo, i really don't know the first thing about rotarys, except how they work.

if anyone could give me some basic maitnance instructions and performance modifications to open up the engine a little that would be a big help.

i previously owned a 95 honda prelude that i fully worked and looked after very well, so i know how much work is involved in a normal car but what i am trying to work out is how much more work is involved in a rotary.

thanks for you time

Exhaust, Downpipe, and intake will give you noticable gains in power although more than likely you are gonna need to remap your fuel and get a boost controller as those mods are know to cause boost spikes/creep and leaner A/F mix. Basically there is a wealth of information here. Just search for whatever you want and odds are you'll find a few threads about it.

As far as maintenance goes FDs aren't that bad. Just stay on top of stuff. If something breaks/leaks/makes funny sounds whatever fix it. Change your oil religiously every 2-3k and blah blah blah. Owning a 2000 FD i dont forsee the issues for you that the rest of us experience for another few years at least https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

Welcome to Nopistons! The best advice I can give you is do a search for reliability mods and do them! Welcome to the world of rotaries!
