Need Help With Power Steering
#1
Well i removed my Power Steering ( PS ) today. I looped the system and all that good stuff to makie sure it all went well. The problem is i moved the wheel around too much while it wasent looped and i got too much air into the system. There is no way that i know of to bleed the system. If you have any idea please let me know. The loop consits of a 6 inch long rubber hose removed from the back of the cooler line. I cut the metal parts of the system off on the return and feed lines and put the rubber hose over the ends of them and tightend them down. I can still remove this rubber hose very easily if i coudl force feed fluid into the system. All i know is this has to be bleed i really cant steer the car too good right now it's very stiff, alot more stiff than it shoudl be even with out PS. There has to be some way of doing this just cant think of how. Eventally i want to get a manual rack out of a 2'nd gen and mod it to fit. But till then i need to bleed this system. Any ideas ?

the only way you could possibly bleed the system would be like this.
have a open hose connected to each port, fill the rack through both hoses. SLOWLY turn the wheel full left, full right untill no air/fluid pukes out the hoses. It would be good to have a second person to assist you.
I remember when I did my P/S removal, the wheel was hell to turn, and I had no air trapped. Are you sure it's air?

I don't think it is air in the system, if it is there is reallt no way to bleed it that I know of. Remove all the line and plug it at the rack with two bolts.
