Not a big fan of underdrive (oversized) pulleys either. Unless you plan on tracking the car and spending ALOT of time at VERY high rpm, there's no need IMO. HP gain is so minimal you couldn't measure it and you have the risks Revin mentioned above. I run a Garfinkle idler, but it's strickly for those with the twins. Either tweakit or Pineapple should be able to confirm their pulley will work with your particular single.

In any event things definitely look like they're shaping up. Congrats. Bummer that winter's just around the corner for most of us.

lol thanks man, and i'll look into the idler pulley.

the new rims are advan rs 18x9 front and 18x10 rear wrapped in nitto nt555's. great tires, but not made for winter driving lol

how about a bigger radiator and oil cooler since youve built it up and youre gonna do autocross

thatpoorguy 12-29-2009 08:05 PM

i got the fluidyne replaced with a koyo, which is larger. either one's better than stock lol. it's the R1 so it has the dual oil coolers

leave em if you already got em.. as long as they are knurled and your belt tension is set properly youre fine..

just watch out for kits that have smooth WP pulleys like the indigo kit SR peddles..

thatpoorguy 12-29-2009 08:55 PM

yeah i still have yet to see the belt or the pulleys show any sign of slippage or burning up but i've been keeping an eye on it since it was mentioned. with the new tires she actually doesn't drive too bad in the snow now. ready to get back down to texas though and wash off all of the sand and salt :P
