The compression is close to the minimum in the mazda manual. 7.0 kgf/cm2 cranking at 250 RPMS. Was the car warmed up to normal operating temp and then cooled for 10 mins while the plugs are pulled before the compression test? cause there can be a difference of 5+ Kg betwwen hot and cold readings. also the plugs need to be removed from both chambers in order to get the cranking rpms over 200 rpms. There is also a chart in the workshop manual to compensate for higher cranking rpms.

What im getting at is maybe the compression is just slightly on the low side especially early in the morning. A fresh engine usually has around 9.0 kg/cm2 for referance.
