Hey,

What kinds of midpipes are you guys running? Im looking into buying one and need to decide on which one i should get. I know i want to go resonated because i heard the drone was awful if you dont have it.

The rx-7store uses magnaflow mufflers (i think? ) in their midpipes. How do these sound?

Pettit uses the borla xr-1 mufflers. (again i think this is what they use) I have heard that these are the best sounding MP's out there. They are also more expensive then the others.

My final option was to make one myself using the xr-1 muffler. The muffler costs 200 from borla, and i have no clue what the local shop would charge to fab up the tubing.

So what do you guys think?

BTW i have a PFC so that isnt a problem. I have a PFS DP and CB

thanks

i just went to the rx7 store since jason gives me an alright price on goodies. i did have to wait near two centuries but my buddy said that my new MP weighed more than half of what his did. i think mine was about 7 lbs or so. dont quote me, i suck at weighing things without my bathroom scale(that saldy says i weight 205). just make sure its stainless steel and you should be good. even heard that the one on ebay isnt bad, but something about buying from people that disguise there names(apex instead of apexi) makes me weery

I bought a midpipe and later HATED the sound. I then purchased a dynomax ultra flow for $60 and had it welded in place. I LOVE the sound of mine as it doesnt drone but is noticeable. I would highly recomend this set up. If you have any more questions you can pm me.

I just installed my rx-7 store resonated pipe a few weeks or so ago. I got the pipe pretty quick but it took them forever to get me the gaskets. If you call you'll have better luck. I love the sound. It's almost not noticeable until you get on it or you cruise in the 4-6k rpm range. It's nice and throaty and dosen't sound like a dirtbike. Even when you get on it it's not loud enough to attract a cop(and I live in CA)but it's loud enough to scare the primered body kit off of any ricer within a hundred yard radius.

P.S. Watch out for that creep!

a resonated mid pipe would be one that has a resonator in it. not like a muffler, but a small section that has some honeycomb in it, and quiets and RESTRICTS the flow......
