Well it finally happened. After reading this site for about a month I finally got my first rotary!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif Its a Silver 93 Touring with 60,000 miles. Red interior and is fast as hell!!

Anyway before I got it I coulnd't drive manual. 10 inutes after picking it up I had it down solid and drove into my driveway. Before I got out my neighbors were crowding around it wondering what it was. When I told them it was a 93 mazda they all freaked out. One even said "I bet it could keep up with some of those mustangs around town".

Well my problem is since I bought the car on saturday it wouldn't be insured until monday. And now I am even more pissed off because I was staring at it in my garage and noticed that the inspection sticker and registration sticker had expired. So now lord knows when I can drive it. Cops are bad around town and I got pulled over last month in my 4runner for not having the inspection sticker on my window.

Anyway for those who care here is a little more about the car. Mods, etc.

Pettit TKT package

Pettit ECU

Greddy Exhaust

Greddy Turbo timer and Boost gauge

Everything else is stock!

If someone could help me out with a few tips on how to maintain the car that would be great. I know everything that has ever been done to the car thanks to the great care the previous owner. He told me to use a little bit of Castrol 2-stroke motor oil when filling up. Is this wrong? What else should I do to make my car last longer. Thanks!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

Nice ride.

Just read around the forum and search for maintenance. That should point you in the right direction.

Silver Ninety Three 12-15-2002 07:46 PM

Looks good. I use mobil 1 two stroke oil, about 6 oz per tank of gas. It helps reduce wear on the seals and other internals. Any 2 stroke that has a low ash deposit should work good.

vosko 12-15-2002 07:48 PM

looks nice. congratulations! your in tx so you have lots of good shops to goto!

1Revvin7 12-15-2002 07:48 PM

sweet ride, congrats!

9BASE3 12-15-2002 08:21 PM

Goddamn that's beautiful. PLEASE take care of it. They are getting rare.

Joe Flo 12-15-2002 08:29 PM

Yes I know how rare they are. I was very lucky to find one is this condition! But I did have to pay for it! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/blackeye.gif Thanks for the great comments. I think I took the title away from 1revvin7 for the RX7 baby but I plan on taking very good care of it. First time I took it out on the road an Iroc pulled next to me and started revving his engine. I had to let it go. Don't get me a wrong I am a speed freak but where I live there aren't too many places to do that except for the track in the town next over. Not planning on taking it since I don't want to pay for it in the end. Its my baby and I plan on keeping it that way. Already my girlfriend is jealous. But what can I do? Get rid of it? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif

94touring 12-15-2002 08:38 PM

Very nice ride man!! Take good care of her and she'll do you good. Remember your basics, like filling up with only premium, checking and changing the oil frequently, let it warm up a little before driving it hard, and of course let it turbo time down.

Leetheslacker 12-15-2002 09:27 PM

Wheres that damn drool smiley when you need it...

Haha........I am two months younger then you! But don't anybody think I didn't work for her. I am a full time student and a partime bartender. Not much time for anything else.

1Revvin7 12-15-2002 10:11 PM

wow ur that young with an FD, nice! I don't have an fd becuz of insurance, way too much!

amp 12-15-2002 10:12 PM

nice joeflo..

reminds me of my ol 93 ssm touring...

Joe Flo 12-15-2002 10:16 PM

Deja Vu.....great car!! And yes insurance was a pain. I was lucky enough to convince the guy I was buying it from to pay half a years worth. First car was a old model lexus es300. nothing fancy. Second was a toyota 4runner with a 4banger. Slow as hell. But the FD was cheaper then all of them. Go figure.

1Revvin7 12-15-2002 10:22 PM

so how much is ur insurance anyhow?

Joe Flo 12-15-2002 10:25 PM

For the 4runner and the FD its 1510 every 6 months. Through Allstate. Since we have the house insured by them we get a major discount.

teknics 12-15-2002 10:25 PM

prepare to have your title of baby taken away in a week or two https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

june 20, 1984.......woooo although not sure if this is a good or bad thing https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

anywho your car looks to be in great shape, i cant wait to get mine.

What's up with this use of two-stroke motor oil? is it a good idea as this is the first time i've heard of it.. what type do i get, and do i just pour it on in after filling the tank?

Gotta get some pics of the inside, wanna see how red on silver looks.

teknics.

teknics 12-15-2002 10:54 PM

kevin.

Joe Flo 12-15-2002 11:01 PM

I have plenty of picture to show off the car. I just can't get them to download like the first one. Give me your email adress and I can send you a couple.

Shane.Trammell 12-15-2002 11:20 PM

red is the best interior i love it. black and red or silver and red are the best combos. where is laporte

Joe Flo 12-15-2002 11:25 PM

LaPorte has nothing...Two major roads. Bunch of rude cops who love to give out tickets. The only good thing is its 5 minute from Texas Motor Speedway https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Shane.Trammell 12-15-2002 11:38 PM

oh ok

close to rotary performance then.

Leetheslacker 12-16-2002 12:01 AM

Im younger then all of you so shaddup.

My favorite https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Silver w/ red interior. Great find, looks real nice.

Good luck with all of the inspections and whatnot. Hope you don't run into any problems.

teknics 12-17-2002 09:22 PM

anyone want to elaborate on the 2-cycle/stroke motor oil in the gas tank? What does it do and do i just add it after i fill up the tank? How often do you do it?

kevin.

Joe Flo 12-17-2002 09:32 PM

The Guy I bought it from said he has used it since he bought the car. About 6 oz. every time he filled up. I am desperate to keep the car in good shape so I do it too. A quart of the stuff is only like $3. So its not much just to keep stuff clean in my engine.

bigtime 12-17-2002 09:42 PM

looks bueatiful

teknics 12-17-2002 11:32 PM

so 6oz per full tank? guess it couldnt hurt.

kevin.

vudoodoodoo 12-18-2002 06:19 AM

Nice ride man. :bigok:

I use 4 oz. of Marvel Mystery Oil when I fill up.

Joe Flo 12-18-2002 11:41 AM

Does anyone know about the stuf you can buy on the RX7 website? Is that what you are talking about vudoo https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

9BASE3 12-18-2002 11:43 AM

Most of that stuff is hella expensive. I use Pennzoil premix. Works fine for me.

Joe Flo 12-18-2002 12:03 PM

That Marvel Mystery oil says it is good for pistons and piston rings. What does it do for a 13b?

Damn right, silver is reeeal nice.

Interestingly Im starting to realise how good we have it down here in NZ. I bought my FD for NZ$17,500 (US$9000) and the insurance (full cover) is NZ$360 (US$190) per year.

All that and our steering wheels are on the correct side of the car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif

1Revvin7 12-19-2002 05:21 PM

Havoc 12-19-2002 09:08 PM
