Why do you need the Feed master cylinder? Can you put in a line lock and keep abs?

you can, you just have to take out the abs fuse, or relay and add the line lock between the master cyliner and the abs

What's linelock?

A line lock, or roll control is a electric solenoid that is plumbed into the front brake line system. To use it you press on the brake pedal and energize the system, when energized (switch Vosko has on his shifter) the solenoid in the the front brake lines closes keeping the brake pressure on the front rotors. This allows the brake pedal to be released and allows the drivetrain to spin without the car moving forward (large smokey burnouts and huge tire bills follow) when the switch is released the brake pressure goes back into the system as normal and braking is not affected. Hope this is clear as mud now...

I was undecided about getting a line lock. But after that vid it's a must have. Just need to finish the other projects.

Leprechaun 06-12-2003 10:50 PM

NICE! I just ordered the Line Lock from Summit racing. I noticed there are 2 lines for the front brakes and one for the rear. Does this mean you need 2 solenoids, one for each front brake line?

A write up on the line lock install would be gold! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

turbovr6 posted the faq but basically gotta use a "T" for that you can see it in the pic. then get to convert from metric to standard lines and fittings. that was the really fun part......... plan atleast a few days of down time for a line lock install. that is just for the brake lines and stuff.... i also chose to do ss brake lines, speed bleeders, brake master and other stuff while everything again thanks to judge ito and turbovr6 for the help https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Benny 06-13-2003 01:36 AM

fkn sweet! i been wanting to put line lock on my car for a while... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png what brake set up do you have vosko?

vosko 06-13-2003 09:35 AM

Check it out! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

SPOautos 06-13-2003 10:17 AM

Damn, I need one of those!!!!! How much would it cost to do the line lock setup with the abs still there? Are you doing those burnouts in 1st or 2nd???

Also, have you noticed much change without the abs??? how easy do the tires lock up?

STEPHEN

STEPHEN

those were first gear. judge ito said i could do 2nd gear if i wanted....

lets see about $100-$120 for all the line lock stuff. $50 wilwood brake balancer. about $50 in brake lines and fittings and many hours trying to make it all work.

honestly i don't miss the ABS at all. the car stops faster. i still have to play with the brake balancer BUT after the ABS was removed i couldn't get the front tires to lock up it would just push the car forward! then ito said ok we are finishing the line lock install lol

anyway... i think its also a bit harder for me since judge ito tuned my timing map needless to say lots more power now https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

JaySpec7 06-13-2003 12:29 PM

I noticed that your car still pulls to one side w/ the line lock... does this always happen? I was goin to get one but thought the car would just be at a stand still while initiating the burn out... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.png

vosko 06-13-2003 12:45 PM

the road is uneven and its on a hill. that doesn't help ..... on a flat surface it will work like normal https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

kkw4p 06-13-2003 05:32 PM

Thanks for the descriptions of line lock. I've seen that before, but as a toggle switch on the dash. Either way... f'ing cool.

Thanks -Kevin
