Make sure your whole drivetrain is up to par, meaning it can handle the abuse, I rev my motor up till I hit the rev limiter and leave the line when the last yellow light lights up. I either cut a good light or redlight it. More often than not it's a good light. That's the only way I know how to launch.

Street tires, stay out of the water pit, rev it to around 3,500 and slip the clutch. Mickey Thompson ET streets, get em wet, burn out for 5 to 10 seconds, rev around 7,500 and drop the clutch.

Rev it, don't hold it at any particular rpm.

Just curious as to why you say not to hold the rpm? Thats what I've always have done. No ill effects. More consistant that way too, except I launch at 8000rpm.

I "think" I build a little boost if I can time it right. Mosly I don't. My best 60 foot times, in the 1.6s, seem to have happened when i was playing this "catch the light on the rev upswing game." I am VERY inconsistant however.

As much drag racing as you have done, if you launch by just holding it without ill effects then I may be fooling myself. Fact is there are so many variables from burn-out, to launch, to shift points, to weather, to the speed of the shift, to engine temps, to getting a little sidewyas on the et streets from one run to another - I don't know how anybody gets consistant in these cars.

Sometimes the magic works, and sometimes it don't.

I have always sucked at launching. I am also a little afraid since i'm still on the stock diff...Anyone have any experience with both the TII diff and the Kazz? proz, konz?

when preping the car for launch i usualy stage early... let the clutch out to where im barely rolling im running 265 perellis so i can rev pretty high, i usualy rev to about 5000rpm. then slip the clutch out nice and easy. the key to keeping traction is to have the clutch slipped a tad bit so the drivetrain is ready, instead of letting it all out and "shocking" the drivetrain. i would say a 1.9-2.0 60 ft' is nice to se on street tires

Make sure to take out the ABS fuse and run lower tire pressure. Pull through the water, Rev to 8k drop the clutch then take your clutch foot and stand on the brake. Count to 10 or something. Pull past the water and repeat except don't stand on the brake. Should be money.
