Uhm...I'm a little new to this. Are the mods listed above "mild?"

There aren't any real tuners here in Honolulu that work on the Rotary. There are lots of Honda boys here though!

Actually, Wicked Machine Racing and SpeedHawaii have put some RX-7s in car shows here, but I've never seen them race (or start) one of their cars. The only tuner here who was good (Kiss My *** Racing) had their shop shut down because half of the guys in there were "crack addicts."

Yes, Hawaii is paradise, but we are seriously RX-7 deprived here!

Don't let the Honda guys get to it! Those are mild mods to single turbo guys. Get a wideband and then start tuning. www.wideband02.com

If you have stock twins, Dave will tune you fine. He's just not capable of making a race car. (ie...single turbo 20+psi)

WHEW! Thanks. I think I can breath with ease now.

Dave is a great mechanic.......he knows the FD inside and out. Looking at your mods, you'll be fine. Judging by my KDR streetport when I tore it down, it's pretty mild. Exhaust ports stock, intake ports not very aggressive.

I've never had any problems with Dave's tuning, and neither have 2 good friends of mine. We were all on stock twins at the time.

I wouldn't stress.......your rex has been worked on by one of the best and I'm confident the tuning is good to go. Start her up, drive and enjoy

i came a across a few posts from some people in hawaii recently with FDs. don't remember if it was this board or the other one rx7club.com. you are not alone out there.

goodfellas hit it on the spot. your car should be fine if the owner didn't **** it up himself.

My car has almost identical mods (different brands, but same setup). Dave tuned it 5 months ago and the car runs great. He is a conservative tuner, and yes my car runs rich (almost all sevens do-- its safer than running lean), but the car is a daily driver and it runs great everyday. I think with a place like KDR, they get so much buisness that your going to hear bad stories about them. My experiance with Dave was great.

Whew. I'm glad to hear some good stories now.

Hey, when a car is running rich, its normal to have a little bit of bluish grey smoke, right?
