I am trying to decide between the M2 intake box and the Apexi. I dislike the fact that Apexi gets its air from the engine bay. I was wondering if I could buy the Apexi (single or dual) and make a intake box for it.. somewhat like the M2 box. That way I will getting cold air instead of hotter air. I know they made the Apexi intake primarily in usage of a more open intake.. but would the use of a Apexi filter in a box type set up be any better than the 2 K&N filters inside the M2 box? Any suggestions? Pics? thanks alot.

if you put the apexi filters in a box that would be the same idea as the m2 setup

I thought the Apexi's were too close to the turbos to make a box for 'em. the M2 sits farther forward.

Also, the M2 takes advantage of the "air slot" on the side of the radiator. Building a box for the Apexi's would just make them draw superheated box air.

Get the Apexi's and a nice big vented hood.

Which would be better performance.. the M2 intake box or the Apexi filters with a vented hood?

Niether is gonna make much of a difference.

Either one would be fine. I wouldn't worry so much about the

induced air being cold as I would about making sure you are getting

as much air flow to the radiator as possible.

There is where you are going to notice a difference.

Make sure the air doesn't escape around the sides and there are no openings in the ducting.
