Mom and dad are making me get my own policy. Ive called several companies today and the best offer i got was 286 a month. Ive had 1 accident which i ran into a curb in the rain. My insurance company totalled that car. And one ticket. Does anyone else have about the same stuff on there record? Which company are you with and whats your monthly rate? Texas auto insurance rates are worse than any oter state. Take a guess why.

Thats about what you should expect to pay at your age.

It's all about your driving record and your age.

Keep it clean and that is the best you can do.

texas is in no possibility worse then new jersey, im sorry, probably not by a long shot. We have a total of maybe 4 insurance companies in our over-populated state one of which is manufacturers insurance which after just one problem you get kicked off, and half the remaining companies are slated to leave, which allows the companies left to raise there prices to try and survive in NJ.

not trying to sound rude, but i've bene looking thru NJ insurance for quite some time trying to get a good deal and it sucks.

kevin.

edit: and what also sucks is that our state does not allow online insurance quoting, for some odd reason, and i believe we're the only state with that rule.

i have vermont insurance

i pay 900 a year full coverage on my 90 GXL

thats under my parents

under my own policy would probably be around 1100

i donno if they would consider the FD cheaper because its newer and "safer"

or if they would jack it up cause its faster

Ok....I think I can help. I have 2 tickets one was dismissed because I took defensive driving. ANd i got in an accident cause some stupid 15 yr old thought it would be funny to rear end me. Anyway I am 18 and live in houston. I just bought my FD last month I pay 1800 every 6 months. SO you are in the ballpark!

ok vehicles on current plan:

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L V8 - 47yr old, clean record

2002 Jeep Liberty 3.9L V6 - 44 yr old, clean record

1999 Dodge Durango 5.2L V8 - 18 yr old (me woo), 2 points, 2 "no fault" accidents, 2 accident where other person was at fault (i got rearended, and some guy stopped in the middle of the highway sideways)

our annual insurance: ~$5000

crap i say, crap.

and it's not like we can go shopping for insurance since there's like 3 companies and we got booted off one because of my sister. My 2 no fault accidents don't really effect the insurance policy much as the reason for the accidents are considered the weather (both involved icy roads) so my insurance ha sbeen effected much by the accidents, my points i only got in june so i dont think they're in the payment yet.

When i get my FD sometime in january, hopefully first week, i'm going to be on my own insurance probably in a very minimalistic type policy which sucks.

i hate nj insurance, pretty soon there will be no companies left and then we're really fucked!
