Full coverege, and I was to be the holder of the policy, not my dad or anything.
Damn, that is crazy. But how old are you now? Over 21 right D? I am sure you can afford an FD insurance wise if you have a clean record.

I'm 21, I have full coverage under Progressive, and I pay $180 a month plus a $400 semi annual (every six months) fee. If I didn't lose my license 2 and half years ago I wouldn't have that extra semi annual fee. If you're young and you want an FD you better drive like your grandfather, or just be born into a rich family.

I got quoted AUD10k for 12 months comprehensive in 1998!

Mind you, I had a zero no-claim-bonus and was 26yo.

This was for a 1992 FD purchased second-hand for AUD52k.

I'm turning 21 in 31 days. I think Progressive should give me a nice deal now. BTW, It might be worth mentioning that Allstate and State Farm gave me 1200 each for 6 months. That's also full coverage with the policy holder being sololy me.

So, good deals are out there. Progressive is da bomb, but they're not taking any risks with younger drivers which is very smart. When I spoke to my Uncle's Progressive agent, he told me that the reason it was that expensive is that I've only been driving for 2 years, drove a family sedan (not a sports car, and much slower then RX-7), and that he was afraid I'd mod the FD and get myself or someone else killed. He mentioned that the FD is already fast enought, and that if I could afford it (which I could) I'd easily be able to make it faster and do stupid **** in it.

To be honest, he was probably right. I used to love street racing and going a bit fast. But, now it's different, I've seen to many posts with pics of people's cars fucked up from speeding just slightly over the limit.

I guess it's true what they say, you do get smarter with age.

Sorry for the long post.

No, you just helped me out Damir. **** Geico. I am paying 300 bucks a month just for liability! Am 19, and have a S4 NA. I only have been driving for like 8 months though, don't know if that would count against it.

when i was 18, i think, i was gonna buy evilt2's t2. it had a to4e and some other stuff done. anyways they didnt ask about any of that so it was gonna be 46 a month liability or 54 a month full coverage. i need to go ask them what it would be for an fd. progressive also gave me a bogus quote of like 4000 for 6 months.
