The NSX is a overpriced slow POS....I'm not a fan of any honda...I like the S2000 Body...but thats it...I don't care if the thing goes to 9K or not..what s4 NA stock can't? lol...dumbass hondas....

pengaru 03-22-2003 04:58 PM

don't get me wrong, I love the rotary... but the nsx is a very refined car, I don't think it's right at all to group it with the civic, accord, and s2000. Mazda makes some shitty ass cars too you know. Definitely not a slow POS, it is expensive, but you can pick up a used NSX for a price similar to a used FD.

Anyone that says the NSX is a POS must not have much knowledge of what goes into that car. Talk about a low compromise approach to building such a vehicle, if such an approach had been taken with the RX-7 would we have iron rotors or housings in our engines? c'mon guys, gimme a break.

Check the classified forums, its the best place to look for an FD that has been taken care of properly, you never know what you are going to get at a dealership!? Check private owners, make sure to get a compression test, and any service papers and receipts!

as for the NSX thing, it is truely a bad ass car, sure its not the fastest thing in the world, but my friend owns a 98 NSX-T and its badass. I think it ran a 13.0@106mph stock. sounds about right, the older 91-96? NSXs had slower engines. They are an all ALUMINUM Car, which is what drives the price up on them, and if you've ever had the privelage to drive and ride in one, it will surely change your mind.

So stock for stock, a 98NSX vs. a 95 RX-7, the NSX will win. But i'm more partial to my own car as are the rest of you, just don't go bashing what you don't know. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...closedeyes.gif

you can say whatever you'd like to up people's thoughts of the NSX, but at the end of the day you're paying an insanely high price and simply STILL driving a Honda. (yes it's a honda, acura=honda, for those of you who want to try and lecture me for calling it a honda)

kevin.

JimmyJimboJet 03-23-2003 02:58 AM

LOL @ kevin...

about the FD though, check to make sure that all the recalls have been done. you can do this by simply calling a Mazda dealership and giving them the VIN, they can check what recalls have been done.

expect to replace a lot of stock parts. if anyone bought a ~10 year-old car, they would have to replace things.

IMO, it's better to start with an unmodified car, fix what's needed and make sure it's running right, and then start upgrading it.

check out these two sites for some good pointers. it never hurts to know a lot about a car you want to buy.

it wouldn't hurt to bookmark those sites either. a lot of how-to's and troubleshooting/faqs
