Ignition/Tuning Questions
Ok, so right now I'm wrapping up my single turbo swap. I know that the engine needs to be tuned for the new setup, and I was wondering what all goes into that. Do I need to buy an EMS? If so, what is a good brand? I've been looking at the AEM EMS, that seems like a good, easy to use system.
Also, does anyone know if the AEM Twin Fire Ignition system is similar to the HKS Twin Power Rotary? If I go with the AEM EMS, I would prefer to get the AEM amplifier if it's comparable to the HKS unit.

As for which one, I'm not a tuner. I'd recommend you talk to whoever you anticipate will be tuning your car. See what YOUR tuner is experienced and comfortable with. That said, I suspect the majority of FD owners use the Apex'i Power FC. It's proven, relatively inexpensive and probably has the biggest support base because of it's popularity.

Yeah.. what Signal said. Power FC is the easiest... and is more than adequate for MOST street set up FD's. Standalones are real fun to try to wire up and figure out what went wrong.
The power fc will allow tuning the fuel and ignition maps. Purchasing other a'pexi accessories for the power fc will allow you to even control your boost throughout the Ecu.
