custom FMIC?

you can get quality ebay units for low price, (tube and fin, or bar and plate) and there's a huge variety of sizes to fit any spot you want to squeeze it in, plus *you* can decide how the pipes will run and it'll save you probably over $1k.

Running a large streeport on stock twins, PFC, exhaust yada yada yada.

Until I upgrade and go single I'm not looking to boost over 12lbs. What do you guys recommend. I've heard some good things about the Apex'I kit, but what about something simple like the Greddy 2-row? Chassis and support frame cutting is something I'd like to stay away from, but I can deal with it.

At 12lbs you're not going to see much of a difference without aggressive tuning. When I upgraded the stock unit to a greddy 2-row I was extremely disappointed. Intake temps with normal driving wear actually higher once the car was heat soaked in traffic (Florida). I assume this was because of all the aluminium tubing that was reheating IC's air. Intake temp 60C yet the IC was a cool as a cucumber. At speed or WOT the temp are much lower. Power was about the same though I honestly couldn't tell a difference. Next weekend I will be getting it dyno tuned hoping for 340-360 rwhp.

The one thing you want to keep in mind is if your planning on going single is FMIC or V-mount w/vented hood will be the way to go. The V-mount w/ vented hood would be the best solution. Just think about how you plan on driving the car. If it's DD there wont be much of difference but the FMIC or V-mount gives you a better upgrade path. My tuner also has a liquid cooled setup that I may check out. It involves a new LIM and UIM.

The Apexi unit has to be ducted to work properly so either way you need to modify the body one just cost alot more. Most guys with FMIC are running greddy units and I have no problem with well over 400rwhp.

Just don't expect much of change before tuning with this upgrade. Oh one more thing stay safe over there.

Buying **** for the FD keeps me sane. Also I'd like to have everything just waiting for me when I get home.

Anything but the Greddy. Aside from having to butcher the engine bay/front bumper to 'bolt' it on, it doesn't seem to be very effective. My intake temps were always higher than both of my friend's cars with M2 Race ICs when rolling side by side.

Really? I was talking to a very very well known member of the FD community and he said for me the Greedy 2-row would pry be my best choice.

How much boost were you running? I dont plan on running over 12 with stock twins, then when i go single I think a conservative 15lbs is gonna be my setup.
