Hey i just got a 93 black rx7 with 67,000 miles. It seems like its in good shape. I wanted to start off simple and work my way up. I am not too familiar with modding the rx7. Does anyone know what mods i will be looking and or what i will need to do to my car to run mid to high 12's....low 13's.....i wanna try to stay away from the single turbo kits because they are fairly expensive and i do not know of a mechanic to aid me in installing such a kit. But if thats the only way then i will consider it. If anyone can help me out that would be great. Thanks

um a working rx7 will run 13.5 in the quarter. if you get all the reliability mods and a ecu, you should be able to turn the bost up and twelves will be easy to obtain.

first get an ecu, in your case power fc would be a good idea, get intake, dp, mp, exhaust. Get an IC and upgrade your secondaries and fuel pump, then you'll need a clutch and good tires. Probably want at least a boost gauge, egt, and water temp. that should get you there, before you do any of this, i suggest you read....alot. Read everything you can find about modding a 3rd gen, modding an rx7 is not for people who "don't know much about modding rx7s" goodluck

consider practice as a mod..

had a 12second car... trap speed ..60ft and dynoed hp indicated that

although the car was held up by a low 13second driver..

dont forget tires... i did

tires, and ability to actually drive play a major part in this. My car pulled off a 13.3@101mph with just a downpipe/exhaust, nothing more. And i did it on all season **** tires in the stock size. I slapped an intake on my car, pulled off the same time, but gained 6mph on my trapspeed.. meaning.. i need better tires

I'd learn the car first. Chances are you will start breaking parts before you start breaking into 12's.

How to run twelves on a stock FD:

1) Get a pair of drag racing rear tires

2) Strip the interior down to the the drivers seat and stearing wheel.

I have a friend who runs 12s with exhaust, intake, and ECU...that's it. He even did it on Kumho street tires on a very hot day. Of course, I'm sure his suspension mods helped out a little.

Here is what you need to get into the 12's easy...

intake, full exhaust, PFC, drag radials

with that set up running the boost that the PFC came set to (12psi) with no tuning or additional mods but the intake and exhaust I ran 12.3 @ 113 with a 1.89 60 foot
