Talking

1. I hear talk about if you go over a certain amount of boost your engine will blow up.

2. If so what is the maximum boost level for a stock RX-7.

3. What parts should i buy to relieve myself of the boost issue.

4. Some of my freinds(supra owners)say that a 7 is not a reliable car. So what can I do to make it reliable....

5. What mods can i make to ensure that it will be a dayly driver, and still have a lot of street power..

All replys are welcomed and appreciated.

I think the stock ecu hits fuel cut after 12psi. Also running higher than stock boost, which is 10psi, without an upgraded intercooler will cause intake temps to go sky high, resulting in a blown engine. You can run all the boost you want so long you have fuel to support it, and an intercooler. If your stock you don't need to buy anything to help with boost issues, nor do anything to make it more reliable. I drive mine everyday to work and back, its reliable and fast.

Buy a down pipe so you can get those hot exhaust away from your engine faster. you also might want to see if your catalytic converter is clogged as well. also get your hands on a upgraded intercooler, if you are not looking for that much performance then get the upgraded side mount IC. You will also need a good boost gauge so you can keep tabs on your boost and when and if you run into problems you can better diagnose your problems just by what type of boost pattern you are getting. if you live in a place where it gets hot you might want to also buy a radiator such as a Fludyne or Koyo. And make sure you let your engine cool and let the turbo's cool before you shut your car off, if you don't like sitting with your car while you let it cool then buy a turbo timer.

Ok, i'm very confused at what you even have. You say you have a kkk turbo, but do you know what else you have to go along with that? You must already have an ecu if you have the turbo, so what gives?
