Good question. I never thought about the counter weight. My understanding is that auto flywheel is neutral. So, if you go manual and decide to use manual flywheel you might need to add the counter weight associate with manual flywheel (don't quote me as I'm not 100% on this).

I guess you could use the harness.. but you would need to change the adaptor that hook up to the manual ECU I think its just simpler to just get a manual harness as the engine harness also hooks up to the manual tranny.

Converting to manual isn't an easy job. But like everything else, it just takes time. Good luck on your swap!

Why are you quoting me?? I don't need that stuff...

First, what do you mean "Cryo froze out"?? And do you have proof of this process??

Do you know the difference between 93 and 94 ECU?? How about 93 vs 93 Cali?? how about 99 and US 93-95s?

Well, First of all, I've seem your posts on this forum and you are all over the place!! What I mean by all over the place is you have no clue what you want to do with your car and just posting random questions and such.

In this case, and if you have a clue, cyro treated tranny doesn't mean its good for his set up. Sure, some say it helps but in this case regarding AT to MT, its just a waste.

Second, ECUs... 94+ ECUs are like CA 93. Which means they have EGR sensors. If he keep is stock he would need EGR so that he doesnt read codes. 99+ ECUs are completely useless as unless you have 99 rats nest and 99+ harness its pointless..

My advice to you is READ some of the stuff on this forum and RX7club forum. If you really have an important question or something to show us that you could inform us about, other random post just takes up space. Not only that, there are so many people (like yourself) who just got an FD and wants to learn more about.. and mis information or blind teaching blind technique just makes it worse... I'm not trying to give you a hard time but stuff like this is why I came here and trying to help.... because there are way TOO many crap on the "BIG" forum..

Herb, I completely understand and I took no offense to that. I am trying to learn and I wont give anyone false info knowingly that is. I know the basics and i know a fair share of piston motors and trannys and such but the rotary i am fairly new and am trying to learn. I just figured I have these parts and if someone can use them great if not no problem thats pretty much it tho.. and Ill try to keep my random question posts to a minimum I promise :-) but your right I am up in the air to what to do with my FD cause I am not 100% set in any direction...

Good to hear that you didn't think I was being harsh.. I don't mean to!

Well, I'm on this forum to help (no more 7club). If you need directions and advice, I'm willing to give... And I'll try to give you more factual than fiction.

Regarding your decision on which direction, I believe its best to do certain mods for certain purpose. For most people including myself, I rather have a good all around car than track only or show only car.

I personally think stock twins are good enough for most of us who street drive our cars. If you want to make a drag car, than my suggestion is, there are many old school cars that you could put rotaries into that will out run built FDs. If you want good track/auto cross, slightly modded FD is plenty... and you should just worry about improving your driving skills and not so much about modifying your car. Do the opposite will only hurt you in the future.

I don't know how old you are but street racing just seems old now and only idiots would street race. Ever time I drive my FD, there are some jack asses just want to race. I don't think of my car as a drag car nor think its the fastest machines on the street to race everyone. I think only dumbasses with high strung egos do stupid **** like that. Dont get me wrong, I still drive fast and aggressive.. but surrounding environment pending. Love of cars doesn't mean you have to act stupid all the time..

Anyhow, I'll stop ranting..

I totally understand im 23 years old yah a kid still sorta but ive been through a lot, a divorce, military, college you name it ive done it..

Me I am not one of those street racing punks lol.. im sorry i hate them too. I also drive agressive and fast depending on conditions of course. I do race sometimes but its when I know for a fact it wont hurt anyone.. I have gotten on my car before but never to the point i would call down right racing.. I just want a good street car..

Don't get me wrong on this also cause the car will see strip time otherwise I wouldnt want to upgrade lol.. but it will only see the strip maybe once a month if that. so its really just a nice weekend car for me.. I have decided I am going to stay with the twins and when they decide to go out I am going to upgrade to the BNR's. I am going to go non-sequential however thats a given unless someone can totally convince me otherwise, I just like the setup and less cobble under my hood.

I apreciate your honesty and please I am here to learn and not lead anyone down a stupid path If i can be help I will help anyone as im sure you guys have seen in some of my posts im not going to flame anyone who asks a question even if it has been asked 50 million times I do joke around a lot but I let it be known im joking also when I do.
