hey guys ,
I need a big favor from one of you here. My good friends brother just got into the carbon fiber business and I need some stock parts for him to make up for us. Now he will do hoods, air boxes, fenders, door skins, light covers, trim ect ect. But the thing is, I need peices for him to copy. I don't have any stock extra parts to use and I was wondering if anyone in my area has some stuff to make. Ill give you a example of what im having him make for us ... martin (fikserx7) found this hood on ebay for me, and their only made in asia now so obviously thats fishy. but check it out ...

id like to have cf hood for the gslse. mirrors would be pretty cool too.
if hes interested in making a mold or cast for the fb hood i can send him mine and let him use it for as long as he wants if he wants to sell me one of the hoods for a good price (ie. $5 or less)

if your serious about the pricing, and you can get me a stock hood, I can get us all good pricing. Thats why im trying to get this done. The prices will be good for me and anyone I know that wants one.

i was completely serious about what i said, the price i was kind of kidding about though, but seeing as how ill have to pay for shipping and have to drive around with no hood for a while, i would expect to get one for very little monetary cost.
i think a lot of guys would like to have a cf fb hood, and if he was the only one making them he could probably make a lot of money.

yea I know he deff can. Keep in mind you'll get your stock hood back as well. I personally would like carbon fiber fenders and hood cause thats pimp.
He will do colored carbon fiber too. Im going to get white and black threading carbon fiber hood for my car. than im going to add a blue pearl coat to the top.

So, any thing we're willing to send him, he's willing to try to make in carbon? Are these going to be light race quality pre-preg style (or at least nice slngle layer stuff like Chuck's hood), of Vis style heavy *** show pieces? Does he have any expected turn around time?
I usually paint my carbon bits, so if these parts won't be saving a lot of weight, then there's really nothing in it for me. However, if they're light, and turn-around time isn't ridiculous, I might be willing to loan fenders and doors, if he thinks he can handle the doors (no pun intended).

i would be interested in carbon doors also, IF they are a significant weight saving... i'm also in the market for a CF rear hatch also.

yea guys. Mainly hes working on the style hood for me. I'd say for now, lets just see what he can do with the hoods. Honestly, I wouldn't trust him with making my doors on my car yet, but lets see how a hood comes out since im going to be his first victim, i mean customer :P .
