Help Me Start My Fd..
#1
Well it's finally time to turn the key... but I wanted to get some preliminaries before I turn the key...
Basically, what do I need to do/know before starting it...
Here is the config...
New rebuild and street ported by KD Rotary (new)
Filters
Catback
Downpipe
full non sequential
removed unwanted plugs from harness (new)
stock fuel system
Power FC w/ commander (new)
Greddy pullies
NGK 9s all around
Taylor Plug wires
Do I need to add ATF before I start it?
Do I need to pull the fuel pump relay to prime the fluids? I added 5 quarts of oil (dual oil coolors) but I think it needs 6
How long do i need to crank it to prime everything?
anything else I'm missing??
I'm also worried since Jay (turbovr6) is having problems and we kinda of have the same situation besides turbo setups, so I want to do this right...
any suggestions.. .PLLLEAASE help.. today will be the day...

you don't need any ATF, the engine has plenty of lube from assembly. I would pull the fuse and crank it a few times, without the sparkplugs in, to clear out some off the assembly oils likly sitting in the combustion chamber, and to prime the oil pump, and get some oil moving. After that you should be fine.
My problem seems to be my nasty *** 10 year old, 80,000 mile heat baked harness. I have a new one coming.
You should be fine Jay, I see you have a new harness.
oh and as far as the oil level goes, you should need 6 quarts, but for now just start it, run it a bit, shut here down, then check the oil level.
Good Luck

I knew it!!! man, same shiet as you Jay... well.. maybe..
right when I got off IM w/ you, I put the plug wires, got in the car and turned the key... it started right up... wow.. the shiet is loud!! I let it idle for about 5 mins and shut her down... found that i forgot to tighten up the downpipe... so that was done... topped off the oil and coolant, checked for leaks or anything out of the ordinary...
30mins later, got in the car and turned the key... once again, it started right up. I let it idle for about 10 - 15 mins while the idle was bouncing, letting the power fc do it's work. Got in the car and pulled it out and drove it up the street and back. I noticed that once it sees boost, it hesitates and doesn't want to move.... so i figured out it had to be that setting to change to non sequential thinking the pfc was looking for the solenoids and crap being that it's not there...
so back to the driveway and let it sit for about 30mins while I have some pizza...
I get back and inspect the FD once again checking for leaks or anything unusual... get in the car and crank.. crank... crank... hmm WTF?? did i forget to do something? checked everything again just to make sure... crank... crank.. crank.. ok.. time to check the plugs... pull em out and they look fine... no excessive fuel , so i'm guessing it didn't get flooded.. I noticed that I didn't smell any fuel at all... maybe I wasn't getting any fuel, maybe no spark?
Well being soo late and the car is really loud, I'm had to end the night and push it for when I get home from work today, so we'll see...
