Hey all

My fd has come back from being rebuilt and i now want to single turbo it. I've been trawling around the internet and decided on either a garrett gt35r, gt4088 or a to4z was wondering if any one has any of these and if so what are they like, many thanks

how much power are you looking for ? where and how do you drive the car. those are very important factors when deciding

that's what banzai did for my set up. it's a GT35R/40 hybrid. she spools quick and has a torque line smooth as butter. go to their site banzai-racing.com and click the dyno gallery link to check out builds they've done that tell everything that's in the car and you can get a basic comparisson with the dyno sheet for a car that closely matches yours

Exactly. I would ditch the Gt4088 Option.

Run either the Gt35R or a To4Z. Either one is good to 450rwhp, and the Z is good for an easy 500rwhp.

Here is a GT35R hybrid we offer, check out the dyno results

Hey

Thanks for the comment i think im gunna go with to4z just have to decide on the a/r which do you think is better .84 or 1.00?

Cheers

thatpoorguy 02-26-2010 11:02 PM

what's it going to be driven for? the higher the a/r, generally the longer it takes to spool up.

RX7Ratty 02-27-2010 06:34 AM

It is mostly goin to be used for fast street mostly may track or 1/4 mile it sometime in the future but only as a one off when at car shows etc.

Damn fine looking engine bay poorguy.

I sure do envy the simplicity and room you single guys have.

thatpoorguy 02-27-2010 07:11 PM

@ratty, i'd stay with the .84 just so you get an earlier spool unless your really plan on running high boost.

@signal, thanks man, being able to get rid of so many vacuum controls makes a world of difference for the looks of the engine, as well as making it easier to access for maintenance lol. after i destroyed 2 sets of stock twins i'd had enough of them lol

.84 is too small for that large of a compressor( 66mm). I always run a 1.15 with those...
