I have been to the track about 18 times this year for about 35-40 runs no issues at all. Instead of my highflow cat I got a mid pipe, new injectors and a fuel pump and while attempting a burnout the way I always do, I heard a loud screech, my car stops and my car idles funny when I try to move. They push my car off the track, Fluid is gushing out of the Diff. It turns out to be the diff and the casing.

Normally before I run I drop the clutch around 5-6K , to spin the wheels enough to get the stones off. Thats exactly what I did.

costed me 400 to get towed from the track.

On the same day a 03 cobra broke his half shaft, a Nova blew up his engine and another car spilled coolant on the track.

Now I'm afraid to go back with my midpipe.

ok,I'm done venting.

Your diff going probably had little to do with your upgrades. The stock diff is strong, but can only take so many 6k clutch drops before *BOOM*.

I will admit the bit of extra power you gained from your upgrades might have helped the *BOOM* cause, but it sounds like it was time for the diff to go. A waterbox burnout isn't near as taxing as a clutch drop off the dry line. If you hadn't upgraded the few HP's via midpipe, you might have made it a few more passes before it went.

My 2cents.

That sucks donkey *****, man. Looks like it's time to spring for a Kaaz LSD. After breaking my PPF in three places I decided to stay away from the strip for awhile.

Maybe you should look into Triple A plus....at 100 miles free per tow, it's every FD owner's best friend

Just got my car back today. My Diff was severed in 2. Rx7fasion said they never saw a diff that was destroyed like that. even the casing was cracked.

The grand total was about 1500 including the 400 for the towing and a used Diff and labor.

thanks
