Just got my 93 FD VR R-1 yesterday from SF. I cruised down from SF to LA at about 80mph average. This car feels like new as it has only 26500miles when I got it yesterday. It wear the stock tires (Expedia S-07 but I will get rims and new tires anyway) and has the smell of a new car in the interior too.

Just wonder does anyone know a well-known shop around LA area so I can have a full check up on my car. I haven't put the car very hard since it is a long way from SF to LA ( don't want anything to happen) but the car feels rock solid and easily go over 100mph.

I am now a true FD owner.

Is that the one that was bought by some kid a few weeks ago and then he had to sell it because he couldn't afford the insurance?

Anyways, congratulations!

I am new to LA and know of no reputable Rx7 shops. I know that Tripoint in Canoga Park has been around a long time, though.

No, I got it from a guy in Michigan who just moved to Reno NV a year ago. I found it from Ebay.

The owner told me he hardly drive the car in Michigan because of bad road and snowing weather, that's why the car has been stored most of the time and has only 26K miles.

I think I met that guy about 2 months ago! Was he maybe late 30's or 40's, caucasian with dark hair?

I live in Michigan (the roads ARE crappy and I am gonna store mine for the winter). This guy rolls up next to me at a light in a FD VR. He tells me it's a '93 with like 25k miles.

I tell him I'm gonna get one soon, and he's like "sure kid, what-ever." Well, I got mine, so now where's his?

Good luck, man! Congrat's!

If you are talking about the same person you met in MI, then his FD is in my garage now.
