I know the feeling just take break, sometimes **** happens. I have my own tails of woe where my care was on jack stants for 6 months and i was only replacing the struts w/ coil overs, and some new rotors. BTW my car is back up in the middle of a V mount install, but i broke my collar bone, so i can't blame the car this time.

Damn, dude I can understand how you feel. I guess all you can do is fix the slave and if everything works out them you will be happy with the car again. I feel like I can't believe you want to get rid of the car. You did an awsome job on it but hopfully you will not want to get rid of something you put so much nuckle breaking, blood, and passion into.

If youg ot rid of it after you work out all the thing them you wil miss it and maybe regret it. Good luck with everything.

I got money that says it is not the clutch slave.....but that you shot the rod out of the slave cylinder into your bellhousing. That is caused because your snap ring on the pressure plate is not locked 100% of the way in. Check and see if you can see/feel your pushrod th rough the bottom service hole and also see if you can tell if your pressure plate snap ring is all the way in, fully snapped.

That happened to me a few times....till I realized that my ring was not seated properly. I can now drop a tranny on an FD in less than 25 minutes, exhaust and all. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing....but that is why you built up some pressure than lost it all....the rod popped out.

also.....if you can get the rod out through the bottom service hole and then pull the slave back off, you can save yourself alot of work, but you may have to feel around for a while, or grab one of those extenedable magnets and stick it in there and try and feel it around and you may snag that rod. If not, you will have to drop the tranny. The second time mine popped off, it should it behind the pressure plate on the motor side....sucked, haveing to drop the tranny again. But make sure that the ring is snapped all the way before you reinsert that damn thing or it will do it again.

Amazes me how EVERYTHING worked before... Now everything is crapping out. Injectors, MOP, slave... What next?

Thanks for the info.
I know how that is, I bought a 79' that ran perfect. drove it for 2 months, oil cooler started to leak. the car sat for 3 weeks till the new oil cooler arrived. put it in, next day the ******* oil seals went and I smoked out the whole city!.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but damn what did you expect? This car is what 10 years old and you haven't replace the basics? Replacing hyrdalics is common maintence.
