The only reason I don't want cross links is because doing so decreases the chance that a useful discussion will take place in the thread posted here in nopistons. I think here we should shoot our own ideas back and forth as opposed to just going somewhere else to browse a smiliar topic. Let's expand the nopistons knowledge base for the better. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/bigthumb.gif

After looking at what that guy had done, I don't want to go that route. I want to stick with red so sanding off the red coating is nearly pointless. The LEDs aren't making that much of a difference so I'm thinking of scrapping the project all together. While I was playing with the cluster I started thinking about taking my 3 SPA gauges out of the center console and putting them in where the 3 smaller stock gauges are in the cluster. I think it would clean up the interior alot and look really nice and subtle in there. All I would have to do is relocate some sort of fuel level gauge since engine temp and oil pressure are on the SPA gauges (along with boost, EGT, fuel temp, and oil temp). What do you guys think?

Max Cooper did it and It came out nice.

How and why are the LED not making a difference. Explian the type of LED you used (style, colour etc). If you bought a generic LED from the parts store there is better patterns and styles for the issue at hand.

I will also be doing this in the future, if you use the normal round LED the beam pattern shoots a straight, narrow beam. You need something that is going to illuminate to the sides too.

This is why i mentioned the WEDGE LED to you earlyer. These bulbs have a concave top unlike the convex on a normal bulb. This makes the light pattern spread outwards to give more light in the areas of the gauge.

These are convex shaped LEDs. They are clear until they are on. Then they glow red. They are good LEDs. I had them already from a previous project so buying wedge LEDs wasn't really appealing to me. I can do the same thing with these that I can with the wedge ones. It just takes more LEDs (which is fine since I have 100 red and 100 blue. It will probably make more of a difference if I sand off the red coating on the gauges. Also I am only testing them with a 9V battery. It is better I'm just not sure it's worth the trouble. But again I haven't sanded anything yet. I'm sure that will make a big difference.
