Fuel Smell At Startup

Well my car smells like fuel when it starts...almost like it's carbuerated.
and the exhaust smokes a little but it smells like fuel. (can only really notice it when it's cold enough to see your breath, but on hot days you can see the fumes)
Just wondering what you guys might think.
