OK, I am about to start my fuel system installs...I am planning on running an Aeromotive A1000 in tank with a -10 Feed line into a Y-block to two -8 lines into the rails running in parallel. 1680/756 injectors. Then two -8 return lines into an SX FPR and one -8 return line to the tank. I am wondering about the 3rd factory fuel line, the one that goes to the large charcoal canister beside the fuel filter.....do I still need that? How many lines will I have running back and forth to the engine, 2 correct? Also what do I do about the vent hose that goes to the far side of the fuel tank? Leave it there? If anyone can help me out at understanding more of how the fuel system works and what all is needed and not needed for this new system. I understand lines, rails, injectors, regualtors, pumps, etc... I am more curious about this 3rd line and what it does.

Thanks,

Scott

that 3rd line that goes to the charcoal canister...I used that as my return line

I went with dual intake pumps(2 X stock FD) out of the stock metal lines(feed and return turn into dual feed) and ran one to the primary, one to the secondary. Then they both connected to the aeromotive FPR and then to the 3rd fuel line going back to the charcoal canister. I disconnected the line that went to the canister and tapped the fuel pump assembly with a bulk head fitting and ran the return to that.

However, I used all -6 line since it fits over the stock metal lines nicely.

The third line is part of the evapourative emmissions control system. Fuel vapours from fuel evapourating in your fuel tank are drawn through the carcoal canister and pulled into your intake mainfold under vacuum. The solenoid below and in front of your throttle body controls that. On my car I removed it all the way back to the charcoal canister. I now have a faint fuel smell around my car if it has sat in one spot for a while. (days)

I have a pump setup like jspec. However, I ran twin -6 fuel lines all the way to the front of the car, and a -6 return, using the Aeromotive A1000 -6 regulator. This was far more expensive than the way jspec did it, had he posted his setup a little earlier than he did on rx7club, I could have saved a lot of money.

-8 is pretty big line, you may have difficulty using it into the fuel rails. I think -6 is much more common. I used -6 to 1/4" NPT fittings in the stock fuel rails.

Cool...I am going to get rid of all that **** then. I need this size of fuel line for my hp goals. I was going to run a -6 return but I will just stick with -8 return and -10 feed. So if I remove the 3rd fuel line and the charcoal canister, can I remove that solenoid as well? And will I need any sort of resistor for it? What about the vent tube on the passenger top side of the fuel tank, can I remove it as well since it is just a vent? What does it tap into, I can't remember?

For those of you that ran all SS line, what kind did you use and what kind of fittings did you use? I am planning on using Aeroquip lines and Russell fittings, anyone know of any problems with that combination?

Thanks,

Scott
