Anyone else have problems with the pipe that comes off the cross over tube, and the other pipe that leads to the intercooler lining up? does it matter if there is a gap as long as the blue rubber thing covers it?
the is going to be a gap. that is normal
LIKE THIS!!??
again
Also..... is it neccessary to put the rebar back on?
Theres nothing more that pisses me off than parts that don't work/fit, soo hard to find a good company that actually makes quality parts,
???
its not nessicary to put the rebar back on, but if you street drive the car you should try to put it back on. that pipe fit reminds me of the m2 medium kits, it will work that way but i agree its not exactly a perfect fit

That rebar doesn't go anything except suport the radiator. Its pretty weak, so I doubt it adds any structural integrity to the car. I am going to remove mine to run cold air to the turbo.
try turning the pipe around. it looked weird to me when i first put mine on. did you cut the small piece of metal out where they said in th einstructions?
lou |
I lined it up according to the arrows...
the arrows are not supposed to meet up, they flow one direction, to the throttle body if i am not mistaken. again, did you cut out that small piece of metal? i could not get mine to line up until i cut some out.
here is what mine looked like before i finished everything up and then polished the pipes.
thats what I meant the arrows all go in 1 direction.. I also noticed you have a stock radiator.... maybe this is the issue
it looks as if your radiator is in the appropriate position, and is no different than mine.
i had to fock with mine for a few minutes and then it fit, good luck with the rest of the install. |

k got pipes on..... the instructions didnt say anything about hacking the bumper all to hell!!!... so I've been out there with my air saw shaving pieces off the bumper to get it to fit... this is probably unneccessary as I have a cwest kit on the way... but I want to drive the thing.
Also.. anyone know where I can get a high current battery that is small. the regular battery won't fit. instructions on how to fit the apex intake would be good too. |
Get a miata battery, its what I use.
pics man ... I bought the smallest batter I could find... I'm not believing anyone till they show me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
Its the same thing rxplicit has in the pic he attached. I use the apexi kit, but if you can't fit the miata battery in there you're just SOL and need to do a battery relocation.
didnt use stock radiator... thats proabably the issue.. mine's bigger
Since we are on the subject, I need one of the Greddy IC pipes if anyone has one for sale. I need the one that is in the pic connecting the T78 elbow with the IC pipe from my Blitz FMIC. It is the blue colored one on the turbo side of the IC. Pic below. Thanks.
that is a custom pipe.................
oh yeah. the joys of greddy intercoolers lol
just be happy you got all your pipes https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |
I heard it was part of a Greddy kit.... damn it.... where the hell am I going to get one now? Noone around here mandrel bends pipes, they all like to press bend that kind of ****. Do you know of anyone with a T78 and a Blitz FMIC? If so, then I need there pipe or a copy of it. Any help would be great.
the only kit that has piping like that is HKS......... just get a 45" degree 3" bent pipe !

I can't believe you linked me to RRE. I bought all my stuff for my 97 GSX from Mike. I never thought to order my pipe, since he could not actually see my car. I guess I just have him make it longer than I need and then cut to fit. Thanks for sending me back to my old shopping home. That's funny as hell. :bigok:
umm yeah i'm good at that random luck stuff https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
You and Luck in the same sentence? Hahahahha...... ask your car how lucky you are? I have never heard of anyone breaking as much **** as you. Is that lucky?
Love your title though. That's great. |
He just drives his car hard thats all https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
Me too, but my car has not seen the streets yet with the new setup so I guess I'll see how much **** breaks as well. If I break 450rwhp then it's ok if **** breaks, if not then I was just unlucky.
yeah i'm a maniac behind the wheel. when i'm racing go pedal is to the floor https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
i think that is why judge ito likes me so much. i go for broke literally https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/v1.gif |
Shifting W/O Lifting. Words to live by.
If you can't hear your tires scream after every shift then you are not shifting fast enough, try again. |
in one of my runs you can hear me chirp 4th gear
So did shoving the front forward more help out any?
I ended up just unbolting the thing and forcing the pipe into place... then I remounted the IC
2 probs left... apex intake, and battery.... neither look like they'll fit
damn. well if you can't get the apexi intake to fit, you could get two k&n filters........... battery might want to relocate to trunk its so much nicer..... you can get a nice optima battery too !
Battery relocation is a must, the engine looks too cluttered with it in there with the FMIC pipes. I had to custom rig my Apex'i Intakes to fit with my Blitz FMIC, just ignore the metal braces that are supplies with the kit and use zip ites to hold them where you want them. Worked great for me, the metal brackets just had no flexability, weird huh?
Yeah buddy! a little redneck engineering goes a long way! thanks for the tip
