I want to be able to switch on my fog lamps without having to turn on the head lights first. I think I once saw instructions for this mod somewhere but I can't find them now. Can anyone help me out?

I checked and the Robinette site has two how to's. One is for installing fog lamps on a car that doesn't have any and the other is for modifying fog lamps into day time running lights. At the moment I can only turn on my fog lamps when my head lights are on. I want to have the fog lamps come on when I turn them on with my fog lamp switch on the center console regardless of whether the headlights are on or off.

just wire the switch up to the ignition or something. just wire it to the battery

 

first gain access to the rear of the switch, using a test light or meter, find which wire only has 12v when you turn the headlights on. once you find that wire, cut it and run a new wire to the fusebox.

Thats all there is to it
