Thumbs down

Heres the problem, earlier this morning when it was about 7 degrees, i went out to warm up my car. when i left and was going down my driveway i noticed heat slowly coming out of my fenderwells, i got out turned off the car and popped the hood and sure enough my engine was ablaze right in the back of the engine near the firewall. After using a fire extinguisher that was luckily near by i checked out the damage. It only seemed that some wiring for my gauges and some new paint near the firewall had melted. Also i noticed some gasoline where i had parked my car when i was warming it up, and many small drops leading to where i stopped. SO did a fuel line break?? what could be wrong and what could possibly be damaged? And what would i have to replace??? any imput on this would be greatly aprecciated.........thanks, vince

pulsation dampener is the culprit most likely.

BTW, the FPD is on the end of the secondary (iirc?) fuel rail. I believe you are going to need to pull the manifold/ratsnest.

thanks for the help guys, so it seems ive got a prob with my fpd, where can i get one to replace mine and how much do they run for. it also looks like some wiring could be damaged, ill try and get some pics on here soon. Im probably gona have the speed shop close to me look at it because they have about 4 rx7s and the fact that Mazda wanted 3 or 4 GRAND! to work on my car without even looking at it!!!

you can get an fpd from rx7 stores like mazdatrix.com, rx7trix.com... etc. but they are pretty expensive about 120 bucks or more.

i recommend getting intouch with jt-imports reguarding an rz fuel rail where the fpd is integrated to the fuel rail
