There's not that many light weight FR cars with a perfect 50/50 weight balance. It can still go both ways. I'm a car lover so it's hard for me to stay focused on one car. It all depends on my situation where im going to live what makes me the happiest and what ever happens, happens.

MazdaMike 08-02-2005 06:07 PM

its so sad that no theres like 2 guys who say fd and everyone else says s2k on a rx7 forum.... but i would get the s2k too. what are u crazy they handle great, brand spanking plastic on the seats new, buying one will never be compaired to russian roulette and they are pretty quick.

im not even a fan of verts but i would definatly drive one of these with the top down any day

FNQuick 08-05-2005 09:15 AM

I loved my FD (sold 2 nights ago), but lets face it, they are rolling grenades. If you have the time and money it's a great toy. But if you need a fun daily driver the s2k is a good choice. I'm looking at one

today. And yes, I am already regretting selling the RX-7 but needed to consolidate to one car.

I just sold mine also. And I agree. With time and money they are the best car out there. With out it and without a second car they can be a big headache.

I know if i do get the S2000 it's not going to be stock so a comptech supercharger will take care of the slow issue. But then their goes the warrenty, o well.

Using Comptech parts even a supercharger allows you to keep your factory warrenty, if it is installed be a certified comptech installer.

rowtareh 08-05-2005 11:23 AM

Have you thought about a Mazdaspeed Miata? I just don't like the S2k's.

I didn't know that. Sweet now i don't have to hold back on the car because of warrenty! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Now how do you compare those cars to the 350Z?? another top choice... i love my FD3S so much but all it's giving me is trouble and i dont even drive it that much. so i'm looking for another car unless i get this big raise at my job. but 350z is one i'd get .

The 350Z was one of my choices but my best friend is geting it so i'll stick with the S2K. He left to Navy this morning, im kind of bumb but i gave him a challenge against his 350Z and my S2K because the next time i'll see him is when he gets his Z.

..... Good luck Bruno hope you doing good at boot camp and we'll meet again one day.

what the hell are you thinking FD all the way!!

Snotcycle 08-19-2005 02:59 AM

with a supercharger s2k's get 300 the the wheels easy, and then put underdrive pulley...... and they are nice and stable minus the rear end, you're going to want a better limited slip once you're putting down that power anyway.

FC3SDrifter 08-19-2005 07:26 PM

My friend told me they have weak rear ends and he insist that i buy an 05 mustang. Im like yea right. Those who doubt it never drove the s2k. I'll show them https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

S2000s have weak rear ends, ask any owner. The local few owners won't even race my FD because they say they can't launch and risk the rear end https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png . Funny cause I don't even make pulls from a stop anyway.

MissionRx7 08-22-2005 10:37 AM

Honda changed the Rearend on the 04 model they even change the rear suspension to 4 link, so you'll be fine.

MugenCho 08-22-2005 12:21 PM

Well it's gonna take some time. I leave to boot camp Sep. 27 then after 2 months im done with boot camp than im off to school in engineering. So my real vacation should be right before christmas. Thats when i get to come home and buy the S2000.

rotaryinspired 08-22-2005 01:53 PM

There is way too much talk about s2000 here in the 3rd gen section. IMO

MugenCho 08-22-2005 05:08 PM

Hehe rotaryinspired...so true. But being the car freaks that we are when it comes to any nice car it really doesn't matter we are all gonna have something to say.

DavidR 08-25-2005 08:44 AM

I vote for the S2K as well. These are great cars and the warranty speaks volumes. It would be difficult for me to drive my 7 all the time, particularly with the price of gas these days.

FC3SDrifter 08-29-2005 03:20 PM

I just feel that the S2000 doesn't get the respect it deserves.

Il RX8 lI 08-29-2005 03:24 PM

But you're expecting a bunch of rotor heads to respect it...It gets plenty of respect from others, and a fair amount from most of us on here too.

rotaryinspired 08-30-2005 08:57 PM

I dont respect hondas. I would take my FD over any honda including the NSX. Call me stupid but w/ some more mods my car will be perfect. IMO. So that is why the S2000 gets no respect in my book.

FC3SDrifter 09-01-2005 05:29 PM

I use to think the same way but than i realised that there's more to a car than just numbers it's the experience. I learned not to be closed minded and i give every car a chance in my book.

Il RX8 lI 09-01-2005 06:30 PM

And I'm a closed-minded, backwoods kinda guy who views rotary as superior to everything. Rotary>your face.

FC3SDrifter 09-09-2005 07:00 PM

lol, that may be so, but it's strength is it's weakness. Since rotary engines produce a lot of heat in a small amount of space which only produces more heat. That means premature wear to just about every part in the engine bay. How can you enjoy your car when half the time it's messing up and having mystrerious problems.

I think S2000's are very nice to drive, but by the sounds of it you want the faster car. The GEN III RX7 is nicer I thought, with mods they are an absolute rocket. Standard they are O.K. If you want practicality then go the RX7, it's much bigger and more accommodating inside. My ten cents worth, GO THE ROTOR!

MugenCho 09-12-2005 01:57 PM

Get a 2006 Shelby GT 500 Mustang. Or better yet a 2006 LS7 powered Vette! More FD's for me to potentially own. Bwahah! *cough*

Get a GT500! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png like hell, if i get one of those i'll end up falling off a cliff. Only the S2000 can match the cornering speed i want and the thrill's i'll get by making my muscle car/ import friends scream in the passenger seat with the top down. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png

im geting the 2006 S2000 in the new color Laguna Blue Pearl, new interior disign and new rims, head rest speakers and Vehicle Stability Assist that can be turned off by a button.

FC3SDrifter 09-13-2005 09:27 PM

Damn it i can't resist those sexy curves that the 3rd gen rx7 have. If i do find a 3rd gen with really realy low miles than i'll buy it, i think the reliability issue might just be worth it.

Il RX8 lI 09-13-2005 09:33 PM

Good, you're making a step towards the right path. Reliability is less of an issue if you address a few problems and fix them. The first step is admitting you have a problem. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

FC3SDrifter 09-13-2005 09:38 PM

lol. Is that right. I ask you this what is the best apex seals to use for a reliable rotary?

Il RX8 lI 09-13-2005 09:40 PM

Tune it right and use whatever you're comfortable with.

FC3SDrifter 09-14-2005 07:50 PM

Omg i found a 1993 RX-7 R1 with 14000 miles ! Turns out this guy was a car collector and had it stored for some time. Im going to be in the Navy soon so financing sould be easy and if i get my hands on this mint 7 with the original Brochure ! It would bring a tear to my eye https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif
