Ive came across a bit of a problem with starting the rx. A bit of background of the car to begin with... 1993 Touring x, HKS induction Kit, Tanabe exhaust system, HKS Bov, the rest of the car is standard as far as i know. The problem im having is i turn the key, all the lights come on aerial goes up but i turn further to start the car and nothing happends as if its immobilised, its done this for a while but on the second or third go it will work and fire up fine. Have any of you had this problem before? it has got an immobliser but ive never had it working on the car. I only noticed the problem yesterday after changing the fuel pump, do you think this could of effected it? has anyone got a diagram of a aftermarket fuel pump set up? i had to cut the pipe to ensure the new one fits, is this correct? Any help will be appriciated, thanks

It sounds like you have a bad connection/ voltage issue/ wattage issue. make sure your new pump has sufficient power, it may need more than your old pump. Also use a voltage tester to check power and flow to all your connections. It's possible all this could be caused by a disconnected or weak ground.

Thanks for your reply, the new Pump is a Walbro 255, Do you or anyone else have any pics of how you fit yours? i had to cut the pipe to get fitment. I will check connections over the weekend whilst im off work. It's strange because i turn the key fully and nothing happends as if its immoblised, Its not a case of the engine firing and not getting sufficient fuel, its just i turn the key and nothing happends other than all the lights come on, gauges light up etc.. very strange! thanks again for your reply

That's more of a starting issue actually if it's not even cranking. As long as your battery is fully charged start with checking the fusesand connectors, then clutch cutout, then starter.

Yeah, thats what i thought mate, ill check over the weekend mate and let you know how i get on, will mine have a cut off? as its an auto? thanks

No but I'm not sure if the auto's have a neutral cutout switch, most auto trans do but I've seen them do the same thing
